Get Rid of Mosquitos

If you are wanting to ward off mosquitos and smell great at the same time, lavender oil may be the perfect solution for you. Lavender oil is a main ingredient in most mosquito repellents. You can rub 2-3 drops of the oil directly onto your skin for a beautiful, floral scent that will help keep those loathsome pests away too. For a stronger mosquito repellent, combine lavender essential oil with other mosquito-repelling essential oils like citronella, peppermint, lemon, and geranium.

Good-bye to Headaches

Because of its calming effect, ability to reduce stress, and capability of improving sleep, lavender oil is effective in relieving tension headaches. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that helps regulate blood flow allowing blood vessels in the head and neck to work properly, which reduces the effects of headaches and migraines. Add lavender oil to a bath and soak your tension away or diffuse it into your room as you lay down for a few minutes. You can also rub lavender oil directly onto your temples, head and neck to get rid of troublesome headaches. Frankincense oil and peppermint oil both combine well with lavender essential oil in a carrier oil like coconut oil to create a highly effective headache treatment that can be inhaled for about 15 minutes or rubbed directly onto the head and neck for relief.

Relieve Damaged Skin

Lavender oil is known to aid in the healing of damaged skin. Whether it is sunburnt skin or skin effected by acne, eczema and psoriasis, lavender oil can bring cooling, soothing relief as well as restoration. Lavender oil’s antimicrobial and antibacterial properties make it effective at preventing skin infections too, and it has been used for hundreds of years to do just that. Mix lavender oil with coconut oil and rub it onto wounds and cuts to help disinfect and heal the area.
