Neroli essential oil is effective in driving away feelings of sadness and chronic depression. It is also an aphrodisiac used to increase sex drive and cure impotence and erectile dysfunction. Neroli oil kills bacteria and protects again infection from cuts and other wounds. This oil protects against colds and helps eliminate excess gas, lowers blood pressure, relaxes muscles, and reduces spasms.

Neroli brings relaxation and relief to feelings of depression, anxiety, and anger. One of its most popular uses is for rejuvenating skin, bringing forth a balance and natural glow.

History

Neroli essential oil is produced by steam distillation from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree. Neroli fragrance was introduced in the 17th century by the princess of Nerola, Italy, Anne Marie Orsini. It gained popularity through its refreshing, spicy, sweet floral aroma and later through its many other therapeutic properties, similar to those of other oils of the citrus family. Today it is cultivated in Italy, France, and Northern Africa.

Neroli oil has a strongly sedative property and therefore should not be used if concentration and alertness is needed.
