Their transparency as a company is even reflected in their openly disclosing the truth that there are NO OFFICIAL STANDARDS specified for essential oils products sold in the U.S.A. as many other companies may subtly try to get you to believe. Rocky Mountain Oils has created their own internal standards of quality which involves rigorous testing. Find out more about their STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE 100GSOQ PROTOCOL.
Their return policy reflects this as well with 90 days, full refund and they even cover the shipping. This is unrivaled in the industry. They believe and stand behind their products.
The price is really good for these quality oils but we did not take quality into account when comparing pricing between companies. We simply compared the price for a set amount of ml for 5 different commonly used oils. For this reason RMO comes in at 2.5 out of 5 stars. For household cleaning you may want to use less expensive oils but when it comes to use on your body or for aromatherapy these oils are excellent and well worth the price.
RMO has a great selection of both singles as well as blends. At the time of the writing of this review they have 78 single oils and 60 blends available for purchase through their website.
The website is not only visually attractive but organized nicely and easy to use. Finding what we were looking for was simple and intuitive. It was easy to spot specials as well as starter kits for beginners that had a nice well rounded variety.
Creating an account was simple. When shopping you can add any items in your cart to a wishlist to save for later if you are not ready to process your order right away which is a nice feature.
At any time you can check on the quality of any oil you have ordered from RMO directly on their site by Inputing Your Batch Number located on the bottle. You will see the 3rd party test results giving you confidence when it relates to using RMO oils when it relates to your health. This is an incredible feature that no one else in the industry is doing on their website that we have come across to date.
Access to the educational elements on the site is easy to find and navigate. Shopping is a breeze. Images of the bottles and ingredients with zoom effect on hover as well as access to applications and uses are available on the product page. Verified reviews are also available letting you know what other real people are saying about each product.
The site loads quickly and adapts for different devices so it will look great on your phone, tablet, or desktop. Overall this is a great website with lots of special features that make shopping and learning easy and enjoyable.
They make things very simple for those just starting out by providing a very basic explanation of the essential information you need to know about getting started with essential oils. For those that want more information they have a very well written blog. Also each product contains great educational information directly on the page. They don't overload you with excess information but focus their educational materials on making it simple to understand, quick to read, and easy to digest. You will not be overwhelmed and at the same time you will become very informed.
Our experience with Rocky Mountain Oils (RMO) customer service was great. They were quick to answer when we called and they answered all of our questions and pointed us to useful information. Everyone we spoke with was very knowledgeable and took their time talking with us as if we were their only customer. Even when asking very basic questions that were already answered on the website they were very patient and never made us feel rushed. On a different call asking more detailed and informed questions they were equally helpful and readily able to answer our questions.
Rocky Mountain Oils has probably the best return policy we have seen online. There is a 90 day money back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, simply return it within 90 DAYS for a FULL REFUND. Products can be returned for any reason, even if opened, for up to 90 days and they even will send you a return shipping label.
People love RMO. There were so many 5 star reviews online it is hard to count. When we came across an occasional negative review it usually had something to do with a person having a problem with ordering on their tablet or phone and many people commenting after that they were not experiencing the same problems so they may want to check their internet connection. RMO staff was quick to respond to negative reviews and offer more than fair solutions ranging from offering to help them process an order by phone or offer full refunds if someone was not happy for any reason. Truly a sign of excellent customer service to be monitoring review sites and responding to their customers.

It spread across Asia, Africa, Europe and India because of the spice trading business. In the 13th and 14th centuries, the value of a pound of ginger was equivalent to the cost of a sheep! Queen Elizabeth I of England is credited with the invention of the gingerbread man, a well-known Christmas treat. From 1585 on, Jamaican ginger was the first oriental spice to be grown in the New World and imported back to Europe. Today, India is the largest producer of ginger, followed by China, Nepal, Nigeria, Thailand and Indonesia.

Eucalyptus globulus and Eucalyptus radiate
Eucalyptus globulus (also known as Tasmanian blue) is an antiseptic and an analgesic. Eucalyptus radiate is one of the most fragrant of all the Eucalyptus oil and has strong antibacterial, antiviral, and expectorant properties. It is often used in diffusers as well as topically for the flue, sinusitis, and bronchitis.
It is generally used as an analgesic, antiseptic, deodorant, expectorant, and to kill parasites. Has a stimulating effect on the nervous system, can relieve depression and lethargy. EEO is considered an effective therapy for respiratory illnesses. It is said to relieve muscular aches and pains associated with colds and flu, clears lung phlegm, improves breathing function, and improves digestive health.
The Eucalyptus is native to Australia. The Aborigines employed it as a general cure-all. The 300 different species were used for everything from paper, to mulch, and to fight malaria. It was discovered that Eucalyptus oil could be converted into a gas to light homes, hotels, and shops. During WW I, Eucalyptus Oil was in great demand to control a meningitis outbreak and the influenza epidemic of 1919. Today, the major EEO producing countries are China, Spain, Portugal, South Africa, Russia, and Chile. China is the world’s top producer of EEO today.
Eucalyptus Oil should be diluted in a carrier oil for topical application and for inhalation in a diffuser. Should only be taken internally if directed by a health care professional. Eugenia caryophyllata is indigenous to the Maluku islands of Indonesia
Clove essential oil (CEO) is commonly used as an antiseptic for oral infections and to kill a wide variety of microbes. University of Buenos Aires, Argentina researchers found that clove has the greatest effect over E. coli, Staph aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, bacterias that can lead to pneumonia and skin infections.
CEO is considerably high in manganese (126.4%) – which is used to prevent and treat osteoporosis, anemia and premenstrual syndrome (PMS); CEO contains a substance (eugenol) that is a powerful anti-inflammatory. Low doses of eugenol have been shown to protect the liver against ischemia/reperfusion injury (a known cause of liver disease). Eugenol reverses inflammation, and slows apoptosis (cell death). As an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal it is used in dental care to slow tooth erosion and for relieving the pain and discomfort associated with various dental disorders.
Clove Essential Oil has the highest ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) value of any substance - 1,078,700 units (almost 3X higher than Myrrh). ORAC is a measurement of the antioxidant value in foods, molecules that reverse the damage that free radicals cause including cell death and cancer.
The Chinese have used clove for more than 2,000 years as a fragrance and spice. Since spreading to the international community, it has been added to numerous products for agricultural, cosmetic and industrial purposes. The greatest asset of CEO, however, is related to its widespread application in homeopathic medicine. Because it contains such an elevated level of eugenol, clove essential oil (CEO) has proven to be extremely versatile and has been thoroughly researched as an effective alternative to many current medical treatments.
Clove oil contains a chemical called eugenol that seems to slow blood clotting. There is a concern that taking clove oil might cause bleeding in people with bleeding disorders. There is also a concern that it might cause bleeding during or after surgery. Stop using clove at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.
Frequent and repeated application of clove oil in the mouth or on the gums can sometimes cause damage to the gums, tooth pulp, skin, and mucous membranes.
In children, clove essential oil is likely unsafe to take by mouth. It can cause severe side effects such as seizures, liver damage, and fluid imbalances.
There is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking clove in medicinal doses if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use.SHOP FOR CLOVE ESSENTIAL OIL ON AMAZON

Plant Therapy scored a 22.5 out of a possible 30 points. Each company is given a score based on 6 main qualities and an extra point if they are a Fair Trade company. You can read a full description of our rating system for a more thorough explanation. Plant Therapy made it into the top ten best essential oils companies that we reviewed and we highly recommend their products.
Plant Therapy has several lines of products aimed at providing the best oils for the best purposes. They do have an Organic certified line of oils as well as a kid safe line. Some of the farmers they work with that do grow organically have not become organic certified due to the cost. For this reason only oils that have come from organic certified farms are marked organic yet others have come from organically grown plants.
Plant Therapy works directly with world renowned essential oil expert, Robert Tisserand, and several analytical laboratories. Oils are sent to one of several third-party laboratories where they undergo multiple tests including Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (also known as GC/MS testing). If they suspect that some of what looks like a natural constituent of an oil might be a synthetic addition, they use chiral analysis to find out if it is in fact, a natural constituent or a synthetic addition. They provide access to the GC/MS test for each batch they produce accessible from the products page.
They are very transparent with information regarding why they have made decisions in how their oils are made. For example their Bergamot oil is the only oil they carry that is fractionally distilled or redistilled. The reason they have chosen this path is because Bergamot is a highly phototoxic essential oil. Plant Therapy’s Bergamot is known as bergapten free. This means that the chemical constituent that makes Bergamot so phototoxic, bergapten, has been removed from our Bergamot making it safe to use in the sun. Their care for their customers which also means the quality of their oils can been seen in their creation of a Kid Safe line of oils making it easy for parents to choose the right oils for their children.
We compared the prices of a set amount of 5 different essential oils among the companies being reviewed focusing on price alone regardless of quality rating. Plant Therapy scored high in our cost analysis of 5 different essential oils. Considering the high quality of their oils this is an even more excellent value.
Plant Therapy did not have as large a selection as some of the other companies we were comparing them to but it is important to point out that they have a kid safe line which is unique and helpful to parents.
The website was somewhat busy with links to the same things in multiple places but overall a good experience. It was still easy to find what I was looking for. They offer a daily deal on the website which was something we did not see other companies doing. The actual product pages are designed in a more minimalistic way then other areas of the site such as the home page and were easier to digest. All information regarding the product was readily available from the product page including the Test Reports.
Signing up for an account was easy. The account side of the website is very nice and you can save items for later by adding them to your wishlist. They also have a quick order feature that pulls up a form where you can add items quickly without having to navigate all over the website.
Another thing they offer is an Aromatherapy Marketplace that features handcrafted items such as necklace diffusers and Carrying Bags. This is in addition to their Accessories section which features more mass produced products.
We were not sure why there is not a link to their blog in the navigation bar but you can get there from the footer or by scrolling down on the homepage. This is the main source of education on the site so it would be able to access it from the nav bar.
The site loads quickly and adapts for different devices so it will look great on your phone, tablet, or desktop.
The main source for education on the website is through the blog. The product pages did have descriptions and directions for use as well. The blog is kept up to date and contains good information. They have some nice categories like Make Your Own Monday, Wisdom Wednesday, and Feature Friday. The educational aspect was not as feature rich or organized as well but there nevertheless was a wealth of information in the blog if you dig for it.
When we first called we had to leave a message. They called back within two hours and were very helpful and answered all of our questions.
They offer free shipping for all U.S. Retail customers. Plant Therapy is dedicated to customer satisfaction. They offer a 90 day 100% money back guarantee. U.S. customers will receive a return label for free return shipping. Keep in mind that this is good for purchases made at www.planttherapy.com only.
I was hard pressed to find any negative reviews about Plant Therapy. It seems like they are doing a great job and people generally love them. Many people claimed that their oils worked great for them. Some said they did not feel they were as good as the brand they were already using but this was common with most oil companies we reviewed. People are different and respond differently to different things. Blends are made slightly differently with each company. Overall people seemed happy with their experience with Plant Therapy.
We came across a post about Plant Therapy where they responded to a customer who was doing third party testing on oils and found that a sample of their Tea Tree oil was not in compliance. The response from Plant Therapy was amazing. They committed to "immediately go over our quality control measures and see how this could have happened and take corrective action right away." They pulled all of their Tea Tree Oil off of their website and from amazon until they could obtain a new batch. They also asked to have their latest batch included in her next test. The next tests that were preformed showed that they were in compliance. This is the sign of a company that really cares about their oils and their customers as the actions they took (pulling all their Tea Tree oil off the shelves) cost them a lot of money but also gained the trust of their customers and resulted in many new ones. Their decision in this process gained our trust as well which is why we recommend them.

Amoils scored a 23 out of a possible 30 points. Each company is given a score based on 6 main qualities and an extra point if they are a Fair Trade company. You can read a full description of our rating system for a more thorough explanation. Amoils made it into the top ten best essential oils companies that we reviewed and we highly recommend their products.
There is not a whole lot of information on their website regarding the quality of their oils. They do state that their products contain no pesticides, herbicides or any synthetic chemicals. They also make it clear that their oils are not tested on animals and no animal products are used in manufacturing the oils. While they do state that they use only the finest natural products, focusing on ethical production and using the best quality, natural ingredients available, there is no mention of any of their products being organic or where specifically they are harvested. We did send an email asking for some clarification on informations regarding quality such as their distillation process and if they offered any certified organic oils and are currently awaiting their response.
You can tell a lot about the quality of an oil based on if it works or not and one thing that we found out about Amoils is that they have tons of reviews from people sharing how their specific formulas worked and these reviews are not just on their own website.
Amoils pricing was very competitive. They were not cheap by any means but a good price for a quality oil.
Amoils does not have a huge variety of oils to choose from. At the time of this review they have only 7 single oils. Their strength is in their blends. They have 33 blends that are named according to the health issues they address.
We really like their website. It is organized well and love the way you shop for oils based on the health benefits or health issues you want to address. We also loved the way they have a close up image of the label on the bottle listing the ingredients in the blends and when you hover the image it zooms so you can easily read it. Google verified reviews for the product are accessible right from the product page so you ca hear reports of if the product is actually working for people or not.
The website is clean and easy to look at. This site is so well organized it is hard to realize the wealth of information the site actually contains. Much of the information is hidden under slides and tabs making the vast amount of information easy to access without making the site feel cluttered. The article section has a good amount of information and the blog has even more. It is nice that the blog and the articles are all contained within the site instead of sending you somewhere else for becoming more informed which was the case on other essential oil sites we visited.
The site loads quickly and adapts for different devices so it will look great on your phone, tablet, or desktop.
There are several ways you can become more informed through their website and materials. They have a free 72 page guide that showcases their products, how to use them, and even offers recipes. They also have a section on their website where they have a list of suggested courses and recommended organizations for further education. You can also sign up for their newsletters as well as visit their blog which has a wealth of information from some very knowledgable individuals. While there are a ton of materials they point you to and connect you with, the education materials are not organized all in one place which would be nice.
*Review of their phone and email support is coming soon and may affect their overall rating.
Their refund policy is excellent. You have a 90 day money back guarantee. If you are unhappy for any reason, simply send back the bottle(s) within 90 days from date of sale and they will refund your product purchase.
We were impressed with the amount of reviews and positive customer feedback. They have over 700 reviews on reseller ratings alone and they had an overall score of 9.67 out of 10. There were mixed reviews of certain products such as the skin tag remover where people were saying it did not work for them but then we came across customers who claimed it was the only thing that did work. Overall there were tons of reviews of happy customers that had great results for many of their products and the negative reviews were few by comparison.
